Paul Seymour is the owner of Alexandria Knife Sharpening & Laser Engraving in Alexandria, Virginia. His sharpening service is widely recognized as one of the highest-rated professional sharpening services in the United States.

Working daily with chefs, woodworkers, and serious knife users, Paul understands the real problems sharpeners face. His experience restoring and maintaining thousands of knives gives him a practical perspective on what tools actually need to do.

Paul is also a creator and educator in the sharpening community. Through his videos and content, he shares sharpening techniques, tool reviews, and innovations with a large online audience of professional sharpeners and enthusiasts.

Thor

Mechanical Designer – ThorsKnives.com

Thor is a retired senior mechanical design draftsman with a long career in engineering design for major mining and industrial projects in Western Australia. During his career he worked with engineering consultancies in Perth, including Fluor, where he specialized in developing automation tools and custom programming to improve 3D CAD design workflows.

Thor became known for pushing the limits of engineering software, even developing advanced automation and custom line-style tools that later became incorporated into the MicroStation CAD platform itself.

His engineering background spans decades of work in mineral processing systems, structural design, and mechanical systems — all requiring precision, reliability, and practical thinking.

After retirement, Thor combined his engineering skills with modern tools like 3D printing to design practical solutions for sharpening equipment. Using multiple Bambu Lab printers, he continues to design, prototype, and refine tools that solve real problems for sharpeners.

Thor lives with his wife Ann-Louise on a rural property outside Perth, where creativity, craftsmanship, and problem-solving remain part of everyday life.
